"Ecological construction products and insulation from a single source."
The STEICO Building System – Nature 2.0
Load-bearing capacity, precision, energy efficiency - modern timber constructions place special demands on wood as a building material. Where traditional timber reaches its limits, engineered wood products offer new possibilities for future proof constructions.
For more than 35 years, STEICO has been refining the natural material wood into innovative high-tech materials for timber construction. While retaining the positive properties of wood as a natural product, the result is the unique STEICO construction system: ecological, healthy to live with, innovative.
Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL)
STEICO LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) is one of the most resilient wood-based materials available. Whether in modern timber construction or for industrial applications: STEICO LVL impresses with its strength, resilience and dimensional stability.
STEICO LVL consists of several layers of approx. 3 mm thick softwood veneer glued together. This creates an almost homogeneous product with the highest strengths - much more resilient than naturally grown wood.
I-joists
The concept of the I-joists is simple: High load-bearing capacity - less material. Two LVL flanges are joined by a specially developed hardboard. This creates a very load-bearing joist that is significantly slimmer than a solid beam. Slimmer load-bearing structures in the roof and walls offer more space for insulation materials and thus increase energy efficiency with the same component thickness.
Wood-fibre insulation materials
STEICO manufactures an extensive range of wood fibre insulating materials from fresh coniferous wood - from façade insulation and flexible cavity insulation to sarking boards. Wood fibre insulating materials not only protect against cold in winter, but also against heat in summer. They offer safety from wind and rain and, due to their diffusion openness, a high level of moisture protection.
Air injected insulation
STEICO air injected insulation is made from natural wood fibres. STEICO air-injected insulation is convincing in terms of quality, cost-effectiveness and outstanding insulating properties. Permanent settlement resistance and simple processing are the distinguishing features of these insulating materials.
STEICO quality - independently certified
PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes)
The PEFC certification (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) certifies that STEICO only uses wood from responsible forestry. You can find more information about STEICO certification at
IBR (Institut für Baubiologie in Rosenheim)
The IBR is one of the most respected testing institutes in Germany. The IBR test seal certifies that STEICO products are harmless in terms of building biology – they contribute to healthy homes and a feeling of well-being in the home.
IBU (Institut Bauen und Umwelt)
The Institute for Building and the Environment (IBU) prepares environmental declarations (EPDs) of eco-label type III in accordance with ISO and CEN standards. With the preparation of the EPDs, STEICO provides comprehensive information on the environmental impact of the ecological products over their entire life cycle.
Keymark
The Keymark certification stands for the high quality of the STEICO range. The uniform European certification mark for standardised products documents the compliance of products with European norms and quality standards.
Passivhaus
The STEICO construction system is certified as a component according to the standards of the Passivhaus Institute Dr. Wolfgang Feist. This means that the planner can draw on a large number of defined construction details. This means that passive houses can be built particularly easily and economically with the STEICO construction system.
