Properties without effective thermal insulation can get too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter due to an inability to properly regulate the transfer of heat in and out of the home.
As heat is lost from the home in the winter, you have to spend more energy and money heating it up again. In the summer, too much heat can enter the home and make it an uncomfortable or even uncomfortable place to live.
