Sustainability is part of STEICO's "corporate DNA". That is why the company ist publishing an annual sustainability report since 2018, in which all ecological, economic and social aspects are presented in detail. The current report for 2020 is based for the first time on the "Core" option of the recognised reporting standard of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and now provides even more comprehensive information.
Resource efficiency and CO2 storage of STEICO products are probably the most important aspects. In an annual production of STEICO products, almost twice as much CO2 is bound as was released for the production. But there are numerous other improvements beyond that: for example, in production, the reduction of energy intensity per tonne of finished product by 10% and as well as the reduction of CO2 intensity by 27%. STEICO has invested around 60 million euros in climate-friendly production measures since 2016.
